INDIVIDUALS

We all face struggles & hardships in our lives. Usually we are able to resolve these issues and move forward on our own. However, at times these struggles may overwhelm us, leaving us feeling "stuck" and lacking the tools and strategies to effectively cope. These are the times when counselling can be most beneficial.

The idea of therapy can feel daunting to some, and although personal growth is a lifelong process therapy doesn't have to be. As many as 80% of individuals begin to see improvement in as little as one session!  While others choose to continue on for a little longer.

We work one-on-one with adults struggling with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, grief & loss, stress management, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, career counselling, trauma/traumatic incidents, addictions, and more.

RELATIONSHIPS & MARRIAGE

"Love isn't a state of perfect caring. It is an active noun like struggle. To love someone is to strive to accept that person exactly the way he or she is, right here and now." ~ Fred Rogers

Using the Gottman Method, Stefanie works with couples to improve their relationship by helping them rebuild their friendship, and by providing them with practical tools which they can use to communicate more effectively and successfully manage their conflict.

PERINATAL COUNSELLING

Prenatal and postpartum mood disorders do not discriminate. 10% of all women will experience depression and/or anxiety during pregnancy (typically in the 3rd trimester). 50-80% of all women will experience "baby blues", of which 15-20% will develop major depression (this increases to 50-75% with subsequent births). That's a lot!

Prenatal  and postpartum mood disorders can occur any time within the first year of birth. The key to successfully overcoming these mood disorders is early assessment & treatment. The sooner you reach out, the sooner you will feel better!

We offer both individual sessions & group support.

"Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, smarter than you think, and twice as beautiful as you've ever imagined."
